H&S department comprises of English, Mathematics and Physics sections. These sections deal with the syllabi framed by JNTU. Engineering Physics and Engineering Chemistry will be taught in the First year B.Tech only. Also English will be taught in the first year alone.
Mathematics - I, Mathematical Methods and Numerical Methods will be the different subjects in Mathematics taught in I year. Mathematics - II, Mathematics - III, Probability and Statistics and Mathematics for Aero - space Engineers will be taught in the Second year B.Tech.
Infrastructure
We have a fully equipped English Language and Communication Skills Lab for B.Tech I year & III Years students. It contains all the necessary charts, CD’s, CD player, TV and other accessories to explain the correct usage of grammars and pronunciation of words. This lab will help the candidates to improve their Communication skills and their English Knowledge.
Faculty
Prof. D. Ramarathinam is the HOD of H&S Department. He is a veteran teacher of Mathematics with 44 years of experience in teaching under graduate, post graduate and engineering students and guiding M.Phil Scholars. He has a distinguished career in Maths. He served Annamalai University for 39 years as a Faculty and as HOD at DDE. He was a member of academic council of Annamalai University for 22 years (1980-2002) and a member of Board of studies for Annamalai University for 2 terms (6 years). He has written two books for M.Sc. Maths and two books B.Sc. Maths published by Annamalai University. He worked at IARE as Professor and Head of H&S Department for nearly 5 years. He was awarded as Best Teacher in the academic year 2004-05. Now the above Faculty is ably assisted by young, dynamic and dedicated assistant professors in the Pulla Reddy Institute of Technology (PRIT).

H&S Department teaches Mathematics - I, Which is common to all the 4 branches ECE, CSE, IT and AERO, Mathematical Methods for ECE, CSE and IT and Numerical Methods for Aero Branch, Engineering Physics and Engineering Chemistry for ECE, CSE, IT & Aero branches and finally English which is also common to all the 4 branches. |
